During the Victorian era, there was a revival of interest in classical and historical motifs. Lions became popular decorative elements in furniture, fixtures, and hardware, including door knockers, handles, and doorknobs. These lion-themed designs reflected the prevailing tastes for ornate and symbolic embellishments.
These door sets are surface mounted. The standard backset provided is 2 3/8 inches, with the option to substitute it with a 2 3/4 inch backset at no additional if requested at time of purchase.
Polished brass is an unlacquered living finish that will naturally darken over time, and slight variations between pieces are normal. All other finishes will not tarnish. For a long-lasting high-shine finish, lacquered brass is available as a custom order.
