In the 18th and 19th centuries, the rope motif remained popular in architectural and interior design, reflecting the era's interest in neoclassical aesthetics. Brass, bronze, and iron hardware adorned with rope patterns became commonplace in homes, palaces, and public buildings, adding a touch of sophistication and elegance to door handles, drawer pulls, and hinges.
These door sets are surface mounted. The standard backset provided is 2 3/8 inches, with the option to substitute it with a 2 3/4 inch backset at no additional if requested at time of purchase.
Our polished brass has a living finish, which means it naturally darkens and ages over time. If you order multiple pieces in polished brass, there might be slight variations in finish and tone initially. Other finishes won't darken or tarnish. For a lasting shiny polished brass finish, you can request a custom lacquered brass finish by emailing us.
