The railway rack is marked as NSW (New South Wales) Railroad. New South Wales' railways date from 10 December 1831 when the Australian Agricultural Company officially opened Australia's first railway, located at the intersection of Brown & Church Streets, Newcastle, New South Wales. Privately owned and operated to service the A Pit coal mine, it was a cast-iron fishbelly rail on an inclined plane as a gravitational railway.
It is a large rack - great for bedding, towels or anything you like. This rack measures 28 inches wide and 9 1/2 inches tall (overall) with a projection of 12 inches. This product comes as an unlacquered natural brass and it will patina over time.
